Seeing my niece at SXSW

My oldest niece, Kelsey, at the ripe old age of 21. We went for noodles at this yummy noodle shop called Noodleism in Austin. I was lucky enough to meet her boyfriend and partner-in-camp, Matt.

It has been sooo very long since I have seen my niece, and it was great to see her Texas, which I know she likes a lot. Also amazing to see her as an adult-she's all grown up. Her boyfriend, Matt, was very engaging, and I am very happy that I got to meet him, too!

When spending time with family, there is never enough time, and I was unfortunately a bit distracted by SXSW going on all around us. It was like being in the midst of a huge party.

This was dinner with Beth and Chris and Eric at Amasia Hide, at Henry & Noe. It's soooo good every time we go-and lovely to see Chris and Beth (Chris actually is enjoying sushi again!!!!).

Noise Pop 2007

I am excited that Noise Pop is right around the corner, as well SXSW. It will be my first time for SXSW, and it will be a lot of fun!!!

There are so many bands to see I am beside myself, but some of the Noise Pop shows I get to see will be Willy Mason, the Watson Twins, Scissors for Lefty, Spinto Band, the French Kicks, the Dwarves, and Annuals.

A visit from JJ

So great to see JJ after 7 years last night! JJ was in town on business, and Christian, Torre, and Vanessa came by the Mad Dog to hang out for a bit. :)

Visiting my Grandma...

A wonderful time was had with Grandma this February..Went to Philadelphia (well, Kennett Square, about 40 minutes or so ourside of Philly) to spend three days hanging with my almost 90 year old Grandma, Louise Howard. Better known in college at Swarthmore as "Louie", my grandmother treated me to a few days of getting to know her new digs, meeting some of her new friends, shopping with her, looking at family photos and doing some catch-up.

Grandma let me borrow her father's robe, my great-grandfather, because I had forgetten to pack mine. I'm a weird-o, I had to take a photo of it. Behind me is some of the room I stayed in at the Farmhouse, the guest lodging at Kendal. I mean, it was a very personal piece of clothing--what can I say? I never got to meet the man, although I know my Mom and Grandma were extremely fond of him, and he had a huge influence on both of their lives.









I got to hang out with my Grandmother and her friends. She and I went shopping for her, to buy her some new clothes...We talked, I got to help her unpack some more. It was good. She is in a good place, surrounded by interesting people as well as psychical beauty, even in the dead of Pennsylvania winter!
